Drishyam 3 Is Finally Here — And The Numbers Are Already Talking

Mohanlal’s most awaited thriller Drishyam 3 released worldwide on May 21, 2026 — coinciding with the superstar’s 66th birthday. Directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film brings back Georgekutty and his family one final time in what is being called the concluding chapter of the franchise.

The film released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada across thousands of screens. Critics have noted a sluggish first half, but the second half has been receiving praise, with fans calling it a worthy conclusion to the trilogy.

Drishyam 3 Day 1 Box Office Collection

Despite mixed reviews, audience turnout was impressive. Drishyam 3 collected ₹15.85 crore net in India on its opening day across 5,506 shows, registering a 51.3% overall occupancy. The Malayalam version alone contributed ₹13.70 crore, with Telugu adding ₹1.50 crore to the total.

On a worldwide basis, the film minted approximately ₹43.37 crore gross on Day 1, with overseas markets contributing nearly ₹25 crore. The film is now being predicted to cross ₹100 crore globally in its opening weekend.

About The Film

Set four-and-a-half years after the events of Drishyam 2, the story follows Georgekutty as buried secrets begin to resurface, putting his family under threat once again. The supporting cast includes Siddique, Murali Gopy, Veena Nandakumar, and others in key roles. Music is by Anil Johnson and cinematography by Satheesh Kurup.

The Hindi remake of Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, is separately scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
