Love Insurance Kompany Arrives on Amazon Prime Video
Tamil sci-fi romantic comedy Love Insurance Kompany, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty, and S.J. Suryah, has made its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video from May 6, 2026. The film is available in Tamil along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Nayanthara’s Rowdy Pictures in association with Seven Screen Studio, the film had a theatrical release on April 10, 2026, but failed to meet box office expectations.
What Is the Film About?
Set in 2040, the story revolves around a futuristic world where a company called LIK (Love Insurance Kompany) runs an app that uses algorithms to predict and guarantee romantic relationships. Vaibhav Vasudevan, a man from a tech-free village who believes in natural love, falls for Dheema, a woman who completely trusts the app. Their relationship is then flagged by the system as likely to fail, setting the conflict in motion.
The film also features Yogi Babu, Seeman, and Gouri G Kishan in supporting roles, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Box Office Performance
Love Insurance Kompany opened to a reasonable ₹7.05 crore on Day 1 in India, but collections dropped sharply from the second week. Week 1 total stood at ₹33.22 crore. By Day 12, the film had earned around ₹38.87 crore net, still short of recovering its reported ₹60 crore production budget.
After 27 days in theatres, the film’s total gross stood at approximately ₹46.63 crore, with daily collections dipping to just a few lakhs. The verdict at the box office has largely been seen as a below-average to flop outcome, given the scale of the production.
Can OTT Help Recover the Losses?
With the Amazon Prime Video deal in place, the makers are expected to recover a portion of the remaining deficit through digital rights revenue. However, media reports suggest the theatrical shortfall is too significant for OTT earnings alone to fully offset. The streaming release does open the film to a much wider audience across India and internationally, which could strengthen its overall revenue position to some extent.
For fans who missed it in cinemas, Love Insurance Kompany is now available to stream on Prime Video with an active subscription.
